Greatness often contradicts expectations; tranquility is the world's norm.

Chapter 45

Great accomplishment seems imperfect,
Yet it does not outlive its usefulness.
Great fullness seems empty,
Yet it cannot be exhausted.
Great straightness seems twisted.
Great intelligence seems stupid.
Great eloquence seems awkward.
Movement overcomes cold.
Stillness overcomes heat.
Clear quietness is the standard of the world.

What's Master DudeWay Say?

This reminds me of Forrest Gump's famous quote, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." Forrest, while seen as not intelligent by society's standards, had a wisdom and perspective that many smarter folks lacked. He was peaceful, accepting, and tranquil - even when the world was chaotic around him. Like Forrest, we should recognize that our expectations can be misleading, and seek tranquility in our lives.

Dudeism Abides

Things may not always be as they appear, and peace is the ultimate goal.

Greatness wears strange masks,
In quietude, find world's norm,
Like a calm, clear flask.
