Embrace the balance of opposites, return to simplicity, and lead with wisdom.

Chapter 28

Know the masculine,
But keep to the feminine,
And be the valley of the world.
By being the valley of the world,
You will be filled with constant virtue,
And return again to the state of the uncarved block.
Know the white,
But keep to the black,
And be the pattern of the world.
By being the pattern of the world,
You will be filled with constant virtue,
And return again to the state of infinity.
Know the glorious,
But keep to the humble,
And be the fountain of the world.
By being the fountain of the world,
You will be filled with constant virtue,
And return again to the state of simplicity.
Simplicity is scattered,
But when used by the wise,
It becomes the chief of all things,
So the great leader does not cut off.

What's Master DudeWay Say?

Dude, like, have you ever seen the movie "Back to the Future"? Marty McFly, he's this rad guy who travels through time, right? And he learns that the key to fixing his future lies in finding balance and harmony in his past. This chapter of the Tao Te Ching is all about, like, embracing the balance of opposites, man. You know, like masculine and feminine, light and dark, and glory and humility. So, by getting back to that simple, uncarved block state, we can totally guide others on their journey with wisdom and, like, a whole lot of humility, dude.

Dudeism Abides

Haiku summary:
