Recognize the interconnectedness of all things and the role of the Tao in the natural order of the universe.

Chapter 25

There was something formless and perfect
before the universe was born.
It is serene. Empty.
Solitary. Unchanging.
Infinite. Eternally present.
It is the mother of the universe.
For lack of a better name,
I call it the Tao.
It flows through all things,
inside and outside, and returns
to the origin of all things.
The Tao is great.
The universe is great.
Earth is great.
Man is great.
These are the four great powers.
Man follows the earth.
Earth follows the universe.
The universe follows the Tao.
The Tao follows only itself.

What's Master DudeWay Say?

In the TV series "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey," astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson takes viewers on a journey through the universe, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all things and the vastness of the cosmos. This chapter of the Tao Te Ching shares a similar message, reminding us of the interconnectedness of all things and the presence of the Tao within and around everything. By recognizing the natural order of the universe and our place within it, we can better understand our role in the grand scheme of existence and find harmony with the Tao.
